Advocacy Basics
Advocacy is the process of influencing decision makers to create, change, or uphold policies that improve lives and communities. We collaborate and work alongside enCircle leaders and staff, the people we serve, community partners, and fellow advocates. At enCircle, advocacy is rooted in our Guiding Principle of Social Justice, which states our belief in the value of all people— all races, religions, abilities and identities.
Advocacy Education
EnCircle supports building advocacy skills. Advocacy education equips people with knowledge and tools to become effective advocates. This leadership and education involves building confidence, understanding systems, and learning how to initiate change for social good.
We offer:
- Instructional videos for quick learning opportunities for skill building.
- Advocacy toolkits with talking points, fact sheets, templates, and action guides.
- Opportunities to engage in legislative sessions, public comment periods, and community forums.
- Mentorship and Support for those new to advocacy.
