Heidi Ivey

Heidi J. Ivey

Licensed Professional Counselor

Heidi graduated from James Madison University and went on to earn her Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2016. She has been working as a therapist ever since. To better support individuals affected by trauma, she has pursued additional training, including adoption-competent therapy through the Center for Adoption Support and Education (CASE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and certification as a Complex Trauma Professional (CCTP).

With over 12 years of experience in the field, Heidi understands the importance of an integrative approach to counseling, ensuring that each individual’s needs are met in a personalized way. She incorporates various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Polyvagal Theory.

Heidi works with children, teens, adults, and families facing a wide range of challenges. She often helps individuals manage emotional distress from recent stressors, process past trauma, and better understand the mental health symptoms that have developed as a result.

Outside of work, Heidi enjoys spending time with her family, bringing Pinterest-inspired crafts to life, and binging podcasts and audiobooks.

Warm, direct, and committed to creating a comfortable space, Heidi recognizes that trust and connection with a therapist are key to a successful counseling experience. If you’re interested in learning more, she welcomes you to reach out for a free consultation.
